Does anyone know why horsepower and top speed
specifications are not published in the US?
(I believe I may already know the answer -
Lawsuits ???)

I am a new rider, having recently "graduated" from
the MSF training course (excellent program!). Had
I read this forum before purchasing my first bike, it
would have most likely been a Savage. I love the way
they look - as the Suzuki website says, "Motorcycling
in its Purest Form."

However, not having access to speed and power
information, I assumed a 650 class bike weighing
only 350 lbs. would be too much for a new rider,
and bought a Suzuki GZ250 like the I drove in class.
I can't complain, the GZ250 is a great little bike.

I'm just a little irritated that the manufactures
don't publish the information needed to make informed
decisions when it comes to top speed and power!

I would like to say what a great forum this is, and
I've definitely decided what my next bike is likely
to be (a Savage)!
